Tim Turner is an expert in development finance risk management, gained through an extensive career at the AfDB, where he was Director Risk, Head Private Sector and Chief Risk Officer from 1996-2020. He was responsible for developing the Bank’s Private Sector expertise and for reconfiguring the Bank’s risk management functions into an optimal enterprise-wide risk management framework. He was a member of the leadership team that designed the AfDB’s $10 billion COVID-19 Response Facility to enable the AfDB Group to optimally pool its resources to assist African countries and their private sectors to address the twin health and economic crises. Tim is currently also a senior advisor at the Trade Development Bank in Nairobi.
