Supporting sustainable lithium production in Argentina

ILX participated in financing, alongside IFC, to support the development, construction, and operation of a lithium facility in Argentina. Lithium is a key input for batteries that power clean energy technologies and plays a critical role in the country’s transition to a low-carbon future. The transaction marked the first time a greenfield mining project’s financing had been structured as a green and sustainability-linked loan. The transaction has since been fully exited.
