Strengthening women-led SME financing in Türkiye

Akbank is a leading private bank in Türkiye, operating across nationwide with an extensive branch network of over 710 branches.

ILX participated in a loan structured by EBRD that enabled the bank to scale up its lending programme to women-owned SMEs as part of a broader Women in Business programme led by EBRD. The funding encouraged the bank to take further initiative in the women entrepreneur segment and to deploy the investment in non-urban areas, capturing new WMSE clients and contributing to gender data disaggregation. The transaction has since been terminated.
