Strengthening clean energy supply in the Caucasus
The Azerbaijan Wind Energy project is a major renewable energy development in Azerbaijan, designed to expand the country’s clean energy capacity and reduce reliance on fossil fuel-based power generation.
ILX supported, alongside EBRD, the development and construction of the 240 MW wind power plant, the country’s first utility-scale wind project and the largest in the Caucasus region, enabling the generation of up to 839 GWh of clean electricity annually. The project reduces carbon emissions by more than 400,000 tonnes annually, while supporting the country’s transition to a more sustainable energy system.
