Enhancing sustainable infrastructure in Argentina

The Province of Córdoba is Argentina’s second largest province by population and economic output, strategically located in the central region of the country. ILX participated with two tranches in a larger syndicated loan from IFC to the Province of Córdoba.

Both tranches support the upgrading and duplication of urban road sections and the completion of an additional carriageway of an existing 40 km ring road for the city of Río Cuarto, a key economic and logistical hub in southern Córdoba. The project will alleviate traffic congestion, improve connectivity, and enhance road safety in the city and its surrounding areas. The facility is structured as a Sustainability-Linked Loan (SLL), which is the first subnational SLL in the LAC region, and includes KPIs at the provincial level to reduce GHG emissions, improve gender-based violence prevention measures and promote sustainable infrastructure development in the region.
