Enhancing connectivity in underserved and rural areas across Latin America

Torrecom is a U.S.-based leading independent telecom tower operator in Latin America. They currently operate a geographically diversified portfolio of over 1,500 towers, with contributions from major mobile network operators such as Tigo, Telefonica, and America Movil. ILX participated in a syndicated loan originated by IDB Invest to support the expansion of Torrecom’s digital infrastructure, connectivity, and competitiveness across the region. The facility will expand the company’s portfolio to more than 2,550 towers, improving network efficiency by promoting tower co-location and supporting the development of next-generation technologies such as 5G. By fostering infrastructure sharing, the project will reduce energy consumption, leading to lower GHG emissions and contributing to a sustainable and future-proof network.
